Welcome to the latest issue of the Medical Technology magazine

Every October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign that aims to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer, its treatment and its prevention.

In this month’s edition of Medical Technology, we feature a report from the Life Sciences Baltics conference held in Vilnius, Lithuania that explores how artificial intelligence (AI) is ushering in a new era of healthcare including in cancer diagnostics.

We also look at how emerging technologies are tackling the taboo around male infertility with new medical solutions. According to the World Health Organization, it is estimated that infertility affects 8–12% of couples globally, with a male factor being a primary or contributing cause in approximately 50% of couples.

Robotics is also in the spotlight again, with updates from French company SpineGuard on its real-time Dynamic Surgical Guidance system (DSG) used in robot-assisted surgery.
