Welcome to the latest issue of the Medical Technology magazine

The 2024 Alzheimer's Association International Conference (AAIC) drew to a close at the beginning of August. The annual event is the largest international meeting focused on dementia science and clinical practice. In this month's edition we put dementia research in the spotlight and explore the blood-brain barrier - the biggest hurdle in treating brain diseases.

We also look at 3D printing and its associated technologies which are gradually taking up a place in the surgical landscape. According to GlobalData analysis, factors such as customisation, lower production costs, and quick turnarounds will double the value of the medical 3D printing market from $2bn in sales in 2022 to $4bn in 2026.

Following the disruption of the Crowdstrike IT outage, our thematic supplement deep dives into the critical topic of cybersecurity.

All this and the latest medical device industry news, comment, and analysis from GlobalData.
