MATERIAL AGNOSTIC TECHNOLOGY

We can currently produce aerogels from:

  1. Industrial polysaccharides: alginates, cellulose, pectins, starch & others
  2. Plant/animal proteins: whey, potato, egg-white, gelatin, collagen & others
  3. Lignocellulosic materials and derivatives
  4. Synthetic polymers
  5. Inorganic materials
  6. Niche bio-composites & hybrids

Our solutions

Through our aerogel partner network, we offer solutions for:

1. Material evaluation & characterization

2. Aerogel material access for prototyping (pilot lines)

3. Turnkey drying solutions for aerogel production (bench/pilot/commercial)

4. Go to market solutions

CUSTOMISED AEROGEL SOLUTIONS

Aerogel feature

  • 5-10 times lighter than the corresponding precursor
  • High surface area (100 – 800 m2/g)
  • Nano enabled open porous structure (2-50 nm pore sizes)

Significance

  • Reduction in the total quantity of the material required for a specific application
  • Faster response to stimuli due to the open porous structure and accessible surface

Innovation potential in several industry sectors

  • medical devices
  • food additives
  • drug delivery systems
  • encapsulation matrices
  • others

Our mission: Development of an aerogel technology translation platform for a healthier future.
