Innovation is the solution

Then why is it so elusive, and how can you find it before your competitors do? Each Desert Platforms client has a story and a unique challenge: bandwidth and resourcing, lack of familiarity with the medical device design process, a general feeling of not being sure what to do, inability to manage the project or schedule, or simply a block in creativity.

Y

our medical device can improve patient outcomes and revolutionize healthcare. But in order to be a true disruptor, your technology needs to meet the user's needs, stick to a development budget, meet regulatory requirements, and get to market quickly.

Desert Platforms is your trusted partner for all this and more. We specialize in Innovation Strategy, Project Management, and Design Control to help you increase ROI and ensure better exits.

Innovation Strategy

Innovation strategy is the answer to unlocking new revenue channels and keeping competitors on their heels. We help transform inventions to market-changing innovations that truly meet the user’s needs. Rather than forcing a solution onto the user, we get the idea directly from them. Rather than getting lost in the weeds of product development, we draw out a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) from a highly-research oriented team using a forward-thinking Product Pipeline to capture all desired features. We quickly prototype early designs to get feedback from our clients and test their idea, and then move forward with normalizing project goals and establishing next steps.

We believe innovation is a holistic, flexible, and democratic process. To that effect, Desert Platforms considers all aspects and cross-functions equally valuable to the design and development of new products. With each client, we strive to engineer ingenuity; without losing sight of quality and compliance.

Project Management

Project management services ensure New Product Development (NPD) is completed on time and within budget. A steady cadence of innovation is paramount to our medical device clients. Desert Platforms puts proven systems in place for tasks like regulatory submissions and manufacturing setup, we drive collaboration amongst our clients’ internal team, and we analyze and mitigate risks that come with documentation errors, testing failures, or supply chain interruptions.

Design Control

Design Control drives a medical device project forward. Working within a client’s quality system or our own, we execute and complete Design History File (DHF) documentation. We understand the importance of CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485/14971 requirements and know that the outset pays dividends in expediting a project to avoid remediation activities. Our phased approach — from concept to market release — enables a product to enter the marketplace with the least resistance possible.
